Sustainability, Explored: Highlights From Built Oregon’s March Gathering

Last week, I attended my first Built Oregon event. What a terrific evening! In case they aren’t on your radar, Built Oregon is a digital magazine that profiles founder stories from across the state, supporting entrepreneurship, instigating conversations, and connecting regions and companies. This month’s program, “The Entrepreneurial Challenge of Sustainability” was co-presented by The Joinery and Oregon Business magazine, and explored the business concept of sustainability—from its many definitions, challenges, and considerations.

I always appreciate a panel that offers diverse perspectives and practical examples, and this group did not disappoint! Linda Baker, Editor of Oregon Business, moderated a great discussion with Scott Taylor, CEO of Green Endeavor, Inc.; Noel Johnson, VP and Managing Director at Killian Pacific;  Elizabeth Whalen, Vice President of Sustainability and Marketing at CalAg LLC; and Jon Blumenauer, CEO of The Joinery.
