Shortly after returning from the Mom Congress on Education & Learning in April, I’ve been working on a series of efforts to promote early education & literacy efforts for low-income students in Oregon. support needs.
In followup to many requests we get from our clients seeking more ongoing, flexible, and cost-effective marketing support that extends beyond — or in parallel to — our project engagements, we are piloting a Marketing Intern/Assistant program to help recruit, train, and provide periodic support for Marketing interns and assistants. BIG SMALL BRANDS FOUNDER NAMED OREGON’S DELEGATE FOR THE MOM CONGRESS ON EDUCATION AND LEARNING®
On April 10-13, Big Small Brands Founder Jen Barth joined Parenting Magazine, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and Mom Advocates from Around the Country for the 2011 Mom Congress on Education and Learning conference at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Education advocacy leaders involved included First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign, StudentsFirst.org, Reach Out and Read, the National PTA, National Education Association, Headstart, PBS, NBC Learn, and more. Since returning from the conference, Jen is sharing her learnings and mobilizing local moms and Oregonians to support various issues facing Oregon’s education landscape on her blog, 1OregonMom.Org and on Twitter @1OregonMom. BIG SMALL BRANDS ANNOUNCES BRANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS!
In celebration of Valentine’s Day (and simply because doing good feels great all year round…) Big Small Brands launched a new initiative: BRANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS. Each month, we will select one Portland-based small business and one nonprofit serving the Portland community to receive a complimentary ticket to Big Small Brand’s Small Business Branding + Marketing Workshop Series of their choice. March Workshop Servies winners were GemKitty.com, an online jewelry boutique, and Kelly Jane Designs, a recently launched Portland graphic design firm.
Big Small Brands also provides pro-bono spots for NonProfit organizations at each workshop. Past attendees have included The Pixie Project, Portland Women’s Crisis Line, I Have a Dream Foundation Oregon, and the Portland Backpack Program.
